Our Challenge is Clear

*this number fluctuates as children come in and leave the prison for various reasons. For example:
(i) the child’s mother is found not guilty, as women are held there on remand;
(ii) the mother’s sentence finishes;
(iii) the mother is released on bail; or
(iv) the child turns four and goes to the mother’s next of kin or a children’s home.
Our aim is simple
We are committed to helping these children today and building more positive futures for their tomorrow. We will do this by ensuring they have access to:

3 nutritious meals a day

Comfortable clothes and shoes

Childcare item and diapers
In the future we plan to provide:
School scholarships and further support as they grow older
Our work has begun

We are working in Muranga Women’s Prison. North of Nairobi, Kenya. Home to 70 adult women and approximately 3* children.
For three children aged 4 months, 2 years and 3 years, we are providing a regular box of cereal, fruit, vegetables and basic childcare items. It costs just KES 310 (USD 2.55) per day and we’d love to do more.
